Matt and I stayed two nights at One Majestic Place in Mountain, ND. We had heard a little about it over the years and were finally convinced to check it out by my sister and her husband. Check out their travels over at The Thompson Five Travels on YouTube.
One Majestic Place is located 3 miles west of Mountain at the edge of the Pembina Gorge State Recreation Area (PGSA). The PGSA encompasses over 2,800 acres of public land and is a popular area for hiking, mountain biking, off-roading, horseback riding, and kayaking. The Pembina Gorge is located in the Rendezvous Region in northeast North Dakota. You can find more information about the Pembina Gorge State Recreational Area at https://www.parkrec.nd.gov/pembina-gorge-state-recreation-area. Once we got into the cabin we toured our accommodations and we were ready to relax and enjoy the evening.
One Majestic Place offers two separate guest lodging options. The Cabin, where we stayed, and The Gathering Place just south a few yards from the cabin.
The Cabin has sleeping accommodations for up to 7, depending on your family’s preference and size. They have one private bedroom with a full bed, a loft with a queen bed and a log chair that converts to a twin bed. There are also two log chair/twin beds on the main floor in front of the fireplace. The queen bed was very comfortable. We did not try out the log chair/twin beds.
The Cabin features a beautiful, fully-equipped kitchen, a gas fireplace, a washer and dryer, one bathroom with a shower, high speed internet, and an indoor hot tub. All towels and linens are provided.
On Friday evening, we enjoyed some craft beers from our favorite local brewery – Revelation Ale Works in Hallock, MN and some tunes in the hot tub. The atmosphere is relaxed, cozy, and as the name implies, majestic. We visited in early spring and thought that Fall and Winter would be absolutely gorgeous there.
Saturday morning found us without coffee so we ventured down to the Mountain Chalet Café for breakfast. It is a cute, community-supported café in the town of Mountain. Our breakfast was delicious and had an added bonus, as it was served to us by a daughter of a classmate of mine!
In the afternoon, we snacked on charcuterie, enjoyed some bubbly, and took a nap. In the early evening, the wine started flowing. We played cards, enjoyed listening to music and ended the evening in the hot tub watching the lights of the area below.
The Cabin and The Gathering Place are owned and cared for by the Jenson family. Staci was very accommodating and was easy to reach by text message. We were told not to rush out Sunday so we stayed until about 3:00 p.m. and made the trip home. Reservations for The Cabin and The Gathering place can be made by emailing Staci at [email protected] or by calling 701-265-2414.
Our stay was perfect. Beautiful accommodations, good food, great beer and wine, and a perfect place to relax and recharge.
If you are looking for a nice, cozy place to get away for a bit. We highly recommend The Cabin at One Majestic Place. We will definitely be back!
